Alune Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Alune ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use our dream journal application.

2. Data Collection and Storage

Local Storage Only

  • All your dream entries, interpretations, and any generated images are stored locally on your device using Hive database.
  • We do NOT upload your dreams or personal journal content to any cloud server.
  • Your dream data remains completely private and under your control.

Data We Process

  • Dream content (text, dates, moods, tags)
  • User preferences (journal name, theme color)
  • Credit balance for in-app purchases
  • Generated AI interpretations and images

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Supabase (Backend Infrastructure)

  • Hosts our serverless functions for AI API proxying
  • Validates in-app purchase receipts
  • Does NOT store your dream content

AI Providers

  • Your dream content is temporarily sent to our AI provider to generate interpretations and images
  • This data is processed on-demand and typically not retained beyond the request
  • We use a device-generated ID (not personally identifiable) for rate limiting

In-App Purchase Platforms

  • Apple App Store / Google Play Store handle payment processing
  • We receive only anonymized purchase receipts for validation

4. Data You Share

AI Interpretation Requests

  • When you request an AI interpretation, your dream content is sent to our AI provider
  • The AI provider processes this data to generate your interpretation

Export Feature

  • You can export your dreams as JSON files
  • This export is under your complete control
  • We do not have access to exported files

5. Data Security

  • Your dream data is stored locally on your device with standard mobile OS security
  • We recommend enabling device passcode/biometric authentication
  • All network communications use HTTPS encryption

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Export your data (Settings > Export Data)
  • Delete your data permanently (Settings > Delete All Data)
  • Control when AI interpretations are requested
  • Use the app completely offline (AI features and credit purchases require internet)

7. Children's Privacy

Our app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time.
